Yep. New Years is this week! And everyone’s talking about the resolutions or goals their going to make – but are you also making plans to actually achieve those results?

I used to make great resolutions. And I’d start out strong, but by the end of January, it was all I could do to remember what my goal even was, let alone what the next steps might be to realize it. I got better at tracking it, but I’d still find myself stuck somewhere along the way.

The past few years I’ve worked with both life coaches and mentors and have seen a significant difference in the results I’m experiencing!

What’s the difference between a life coach and a mentor? A life coach is someone trained and preferably certified as a life coach. They ask questions to draw out of you what is most important to you, help you identify what methods will work best for you, and hold you accountable to following through. A mentor helps with accountability, but usually they have a specific area of expertise that they’re willing to teach you. So rather than focusing on helping you connect with yourself, the mentor helps teach you their own body of knowledge.

Both coaches and mentors are great support systems for increasing success! this year, I’m utilizing both to help me achieve my goals. I already have a coach who helps me focus in on personal areas of improvement like creating more balance in my life. And I have several mentors – one is helping me stay more focused on my writing goals, one is helping me stay focused on steps to building my business, and one is helping me achieve the financial goals I have for myself.

Oh, and I’m excited because this year I also have the opportunity to BE the mentor for a couple others as well. I’ve been very blessed to receive support, now it feels really good to be able to provide it too.

December has a lot going on! Not just the holidays, of course. But my book release open house is coming together. AND next week I’ll be recording the audios for my MAP program with Compass! Wow! What a process it’s been. Compass has been wonderful to work with and I’m looking forward to seeing that project come together as well. It’s a thrill to work with such an innovative company that really has the best interests of others at heart.

The MAP will air in April of 09, but we’re recording it now so that there’s plenty of time to edit the audios, create the accompanying workbooks and I believe they’ll be releasing CD’s as well – making it even easier to provide access!

2009 is shaping up to be an incredible year already! And I have my family and friends to thank for keeping me going and keeping me on track the last few years. With them, I wouldn’t have gotten this far.
